One thing that strikes me as particularly wise - bearing in mind that evil can disguise itself as an angel of light ' - she replied " Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to HIS will'. Someone who was not so God-centered and not as wise could have very easily been taken in by the awesome sight of the Archangel Gabriel and said the biblical equivalent of " I will do whatever you want" - rather than saying "I consent to whatever God wills for me"

She is so smart. So beautiful, and I am so thankful that we have an opportunity to love her!

Thanks again for the great post!Happy Catholichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06765890451799802392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717500353710337060.post-41226428324039135852010-05-11T13:23:03.588-04:002010-05-11T13:23:03.588-04:00Lovely post Michael. This can be a happy day, but it can also be a day full of emotion. It hasn't been one of my better Mother's Days (and I've had more than my share of GREAT ones!) so it was very nice to read your post and put things back in perspective.

God bless you!the bookladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11263580845211880738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717500353710337060.post-44311637846549919662010-05-09T22:49:26.203-04:002010-05-09T22:49:26.203-04:00Mary - you are quite welcome!

I love what you write - everything ...Hello Michael

I love what you write - everything you write is beautiful, meaningful, clear as crystal and very thought provoking. What you write always make me stop for a while and really THINK.

I don't usually leave comments because there wouldn't be much to add that is of any value :-) but I am a regular reader of your fantastic blog.

As a mum of four, I hope and pray that I too can say "yes" to God to anything He asks of me. I think I can honestly say I would be happy to give up my life for HIM. But saying yes while knowing that it would mean a horrific death and lots of pain for one or more of my children, I don't know .... don't think I would have the strength for that.

Thank you for a beautiful post on Mothers' Day - and all the other, previous posts. Keep up the great work and God bless.

Ciao!
