What do Aspirin and the Eucharist have in Common?

What do aspirin and the Eucharist have in common?

Unfortunately, most of the time, not much.

You see, we take aspirin consciously thinking about the effect it will have on us.  We have great confidence that it will change something within us.  Ease pain.  Reduce fever.  Etc. Etc.

But how often do we think about the Eucharist with that same confidence and expectation?

How often do we truly think about how it will cleanse our soul, strengthen our spirit, and fill us with Christ?

God Bless you.

Wise observation, Michael. Many take Holy Communion for granted, I think.

God bless.

So true! What an original and wise reflection on the healing influence of the Eucharist. I will keep this in mind. It makes me think of prayer/ quality time with God as well.

Happy Easter!

The graces we miss out on when we don't even think about the effects Jesus has on us, on our souls in this Blessed Sacrament. Thank you for this simple but powerful reminder.
Happy and blessed Divine Mercy Sunday, Michael!

Your posts are always powerful, Michael. We put so much faith in medicine - how much more faith we should be placing on this Heavenly Medicine that God gives us! Thanks, Michael!
