Texting Grace

(c) Rhymes with Orange by Hilary Price

I came across this comic over the weekend.

I'm not sure if it is ironic or sad that the part that gave me pause wasn't the whole "texting grace" thing.

It was that they were saying grace at all.

Or that something so "religious" was being printed in a national comic strip.

I miss the days where Peanuts, Family Circus, and other comics regularly included Christian snippets in their humor.

I miss the days where our Presidents use to say God Bless America at the end of speeches.

And I miss the days where grace was a common event around the family dinner table.

Sincerely,
Waxing Nostalgic

Hello Mr Nostalgic.

Sadly, in the UK, I miss the fact that sometimes God does not exist at all. Excluded from school teachings, excluded from some families, certainly excluded from work. And just as sadly, if not more so, often mocked on TV. It is somewhat fashionable for celebrities and "opinion formers" on TV or radio proclaiming that they don't believe in God; or to believe in Him is somewhat misguided and odd (or funny).

God bless you Michael.

Hi,

I hate the fact that the media, the World has to make a big deal over religion, and what goes on during celebrations.

10 years ago the Top Story for December was if we should say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays>

The world has become obsessed with individual rights. But we have forgotten unity and understanding. We have forgotten we all are humans, and that we all have our own understanding on things.

Sad World.

Victor - same here. It really is quite sad.
Mike - I think even more importantly, and to your point, the world has forgotten about God.
Colleen - good for you! I hope your example changes even one life!

Thank you all for taking the time to stop by and post. God bless you all.
